Broken Boy

from These Golden Threads by Gun Mother

/

about

I move on every day from an empty place
I move on every day to an empty place
And you are a broken boy

Is a bucket here with me in this empty place
Fills up with all the leaks in the empty space
And I take it with me where I go

It’s the water I bear that proves the place
It’s the water I bear that disavows the place
And I take that with me where I go

And the woe-ish moon
Brushes off the dreams
That glisten in an eye
That is gazing up
Blankly staring at the moon
Stare not see
Sigh not breathe
Consumer consumed
I’m a broken dream
Filling up the quiet sea

I drink to sleep
lost among the quiet
where the star light’s dim
I drink to weep
fastening the flesh like stone
It hurts to breath
the seams between the minutes
are the only dream
outside the broken dream
filling up the quiet
sea

I move on every day from an empty place

I move on every day to a crowded place
And I am a broken boy
And I take it with me where I go
